D.J. Pendley hails from Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and serves as a faculty member of our team specializing in the English and education departments. D.J. graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a B.S. in Commercial Writing, an M.A. in Christian Education, and is currently pursuing an Ed.D in Curriculum and Development from PCC. Upon his graduation from Pensacola Christian College, D.J. taught various English courses at the college level for ten years, before moving to Fuquay-Varina, NC, to serve at Hilltop Christian School. He taught English there for five years, before becoming a professor at Southeastern in 2012. D.J. has been married to his wife, Catherine, for 23 years, and they have two children. Robert, who is currently a student at Southeastern and D.J. III who serves in the Air Force. D.J. is a deacon and connection group leader at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina, NC. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, reading, and a good doodle.
Southeastern Free Will Baptist College is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) [15935 Forest Road, Forest, VA 24551; Telephone: (434) 525-9539; e-mail: info@tracs.org], having been awarded Reaffirmation I of its Accredited Status as a Category II institution by the TRACSÂ Accreditation Commission on October 22, 2024. This status is effective as of January 1, 2025, and is valid through December 31, 2034. TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (ED), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
