SFWBC Hosts TRACS Evaluation Team
Southeastern Free Will Baptist College is scheduled to host an Evaluation Team from the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) from August 5-8, 2024. This visit concerns the granting of Reaffirmation I.
Constituents and members of the public are invited to submit third-party comments concerning Southeastern Free Will Baptist College’s qualifications for Reaffirmation I. Third-party comments should be submitted to thirdpartycomments@tracs.org. TRACS will receive third-party comments on this matter until 14 days before the scheduled Evaluation Team Visit.
TRACS shares third-party comments with members of the Evaluation Team prior to the visit, but at no time during the review process will third-party comments be shared with Southeastern Free Will Baptist College. During its review, the Evaluation Team considers third-party comments only as they relate to the TRACS Accreditation Standards.
TRACS is approved by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized institutional accrediting agency and appears on the DOE Secretary’s List of Approved Accrediting Agencies, which is provided in the Higher Education Directory. TRACS is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
D. J. Pendley Promoted to Department Chair
We are excited to announce that D. J. Pendley has been promoted to the role of Department Chair of the Christian Education Program at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College!
D. J. Pendley, a dedicated faculty member and the Dean of Men at our college, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his new position. Nearing the completion of his Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction, D. J. has a strong academic background, including a Master of Arts in English Education from Pensacola Christian College. He has been instrumental in shaping the minds and hearts of our students, teaching a variety of English and education courses since 2012.
His appointment upholds the legacy of Dr. Russ Moots (retired), ensuring that we continue to produce well-qualified classroom teachers who possess a ministry mindset and are committed to educating both the mind and heart of each student for the glory of God.
Marc Holloman, Academic Dean at the College, stated: “D. J. Pendley has all the qualities of a servant leader who is well-qualified through experience, knowledge, and Christ-honoring motivations to lead our Christian Education Program forward on the well-established foundation of his predecessors. I’m excited about his appointment and the future of this program.”
When thinking about his upcoming role, D. J. stated, “I am eager to serve our TE team as we pass on a passion for Christian education and the craft of teaching.”

Alumni Day, Sept. 21, 2024
Join us for a fantastic Alumni Day at SFWBC on September 21! It will be a day filled with fun and excitement for all who attend, from Coed Volleyball, Ladies’ Volleyball, and Men’s Basketball to the kids’ inflatables.
