2004 Student Leadership Conference

On August 18-20, we had the opportunity to take forty of our student leaders to New York City for our annual Student Leadership Conference.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship, fun and training.  We were able to utilize our travel time on the bus for problem solving, planning and spiritual challenge.  We also had a “picture scavenger hunt” in the city as a part of their training.  The Lord blessed us with many opportunities to pass out tracts, present the gospel, and even see one man accept Christ on the Subway. 

 The underlying theme of the SLC ’04 was “Sacrifice is necessary for life-changing leadership to take place.”  It is amazing how God worked in our hearts during this short amount of time.  Our student leaders came back with the desire to impact our student body for the glory of Christ – no matter the cost.  It is our desire at SFWBC for our students to leave this institution with an attitude of sacrifice and a solid foundation for Christ-honoring service.  The SLC is a vital part of this mission as our student leaders will influence the spiritual direction of this campus.  Please pray for them as they strive to be young people who lead with Spiritual/Biblical Leadership in the 2004-05 school year.
