Dear Alumnus,

      Nineteen years ago next month, I had the privilege and honor of walking across the stage at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College to receive my college diploma.  The Lord has led me in so many ways and to so many places these last 19 years.  I’m reminded of the eighth Psalm.  It says in verse three and four, “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? As never before, I’m realizing that it is all about “His Kingdom” and “His Will” being done on earth as it is in heaven.  The small corner of His will that I sit in is such an honor for me. 

     Two weeks ago, I enjoyed returning to Southeastern with my family for the 25^th anniversary celebration of the college.  Sitting there with my children, listening to the graduating seniors preach their hearts out sent my mind back twenty years.  I envisioned the exciting journey of ministry that I’ve experienced and the journey those young preachers are embarking on.  God has been so very good!  And to think that in just a few months my daughter will sit where I sat and be challenged to pour out her life for our great God is such a blessing for me.

     Another honor for me during our 25^th anniversary celebration was that the alumni elected me to be the president of the alumni association.  I pray that I will be a blessing to you, our school and the Lord’s work.  We have made such strides as alumni in recent years.  To God be the glory!  The vision is not about the alumni but His kingdom.  And His kingdom still needs schools like Southeastern Free Will Baptist College preparing young people to carry the message of grace to every walk of life.

     I want to invite you to join with me to help raise the hands of every Southeastern alumnus in their field of ministry and raise the hands of those actively fulfilling the mission of Southeastern.  Today, I’m thrilled with the college’s direction, its staff and its product!  Let’s help by praying for Dr. Stox and Mrs. Dolly.  Every professor needs our prayers in their continued challenge of molding young lives.  Another way you can help is by encouraging every alumnus to register on the alumni web site at (http://sfwbc.edu/alumni/).   Should you ever need me you can contact me at steveffwb@aol.com.  I’m here to serve you!
